April 22nd
A few morning announcements:
Speakers:
There will be projectors available in the rooms, but if you have a mac, please make sure you bring your own adaptor if you plan on using the projectors- we will not have any extra on hand.
Everyone:
Just a few quick reminders- Keep an eye on the wiki- we will be posting a Frequently Asked Questions page- you can post your questions there, and we'll answer them for you and everyone to see.
Anyone interested in volunteering, please send us an email. Volunteering will mean helping make sure things like signs are posted outside of classrooms, sit at the registration desk for maybe an hour during the day, helping with directions, help a bit with buttoning up shop at the end of the day- any help you can provide us is welcome. (with the list growing to over 1,000 attendees, we need a little more help, and as part of the community, don't be shy about pitching in!)
We'll be posting a time line for events, including the great party at reBar on Friday night, sponsored by Raw Voice- first round of drinks are free until the tab expires! Check the wiki and our website at www.podcampnyc.org for more details.
We'd also like to thank the Brooklyn Poly Starbucks for providing some coffee for the early birds on Friday and Saturday, and our new Platinum sponsor, Odeo, for helping to make the conference possible.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Whitney
April 18th
Hi everyone! You'll be getting a couple of emails from us over the next few days as the event approaches, so we can let you know about event details, where to find the best and latest information, and let you know what to expect at Podcamp NYC 2.0.
-Firstly-
The schedule of sessions is finished for Podcamp NYC and will be posted later this afternoon. You can find links on our website at www.podcampnyc.org, and on the wiki. The schedule may be subject to small changes, so be sure to keep an eye on it as the event approaches.
-Secondly-
The Guide to Podcamp NYC will be available as a PDF on our website very soon. There is a full color version, and a quick Black & white printable version, with information about the session schedule, directions to the Friday night party, and some information about the prize drawing for Saturday, which you can learn more about on the Door Prizes page of our website, at www.podcampnyc.org. Many thanks to Red Lasso, who is our program sponsor and has helped make this possible, and to the Culinary Media Network, who put together the great dining guide.
-Friday Night Social Event-
The Friday Night social event will be held at reBar, in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn, about a 10 min walk from Poly. This event has been generously sponsored by Raw Voice and there will be an open bar for a limited time, so make sure to arrive early! The event will start at about 6 pm (or as soon as we get there) after Podcamp NYC wraps up on Friday Night. You can find more information by checking the website, and the Podcamp NYC guide.
-Are You Interested in Volunteering while at Podcamp NYC?
As you know, Podcamp is a community based event, and we always need a few people willing to help out at registration, help people find their rooms, give directions, and the like. If you'd be willing to help out, please drop a line to Blackrobb at blackrobb@netzero.net or give him a quick call at (646) 704-4910
-Are you a Podsafe Artist?
Play at Podcamp NYC 2.0! If you can perform an acoustic set we would love to have you and if you need to plug in please still contact me and let me know you are interested because we might be able to work out some other opportunities for you. The sets will likely be throughout the day at Brooklyn Poly near the sponsors. The idea is to give you a chance to feature your music as content available for free to podcasters and bloggers which will help you get more exposure and fans. Bring cards, Cd's to sell or giveaway and a smile. If you are interested in performing please contact me, Natalie, at Natalie@NatalieGelman.com.
A quick reminder-
Blogger & Podcaster Magazine, one of our great sponsors, has a limited time offer available to Podcamp attendees to advertise your blog or podcast in USA Today, in the print and online editions, through the Blogger & Podcaster group ad. (This has driven up my own subscription numbers, and I think it's a pretty good deal for this kind of mainstream exposure.) You can get to their site by clicking on their logo through the Podcamp NYC 2.0 webpage at www.podcampnyc.org.
Lastly- Registrations are now at 945. We are reaching our maximum capacity, so if you have decided you cannot attend the event, please send us a quick email at pcnyc2@gmail.com and let us know. We will be creating a wait list for attendees, so if you can't come, please let us know so someone else will be able to attend in your place.
Thanks again, and I'll See you at Podcamp!
Whitney
